Smart Glass & Smart Film Installation in Burbank

Burbank is a company town with a residential side. The studio lots, the post houses and the production offices fill the Media District, and the people who work there live a few blocks away, in Magnolia Park bungalows, Rancho horse properties, and houses climbing the foothills above Glenoaks Boulevard. Smart View installs switchable smart glass and PDLC smart film across all of it. One tap takes a pane from crystal clear to an even, milky frost, so an edit bay, a conference room or a bedroom window keeps its daylight and closes the moment it needs to.
Studio Lots, Edit Bays and the Media District
Office space in the Media District, between Warner Bros. on one end and the Disney lot on the other, is built around glass: conference rooms with glass fronts, producer offices along a glass corridor, post suites where a screen sits a few feet from a glass wall. That openness works for a writers' room until the day a cut, a casting session or a contract talk can't be seen from the hallway.
Smart film bonds to the glass that's already in those walls, so a leased suite gets privacy without new framing and goes back to base building cleanly at the end of the lease. Each room can sit on its own zone: frosted for the screening, clear again for the walk-through after it. Medical offices near Providence Saint Joseph, a few blocks from the lots, have the same problem in the exam and consultation rooms.
Magnolia Park, the Rancho and the Hillside
Burbank's housing splits roughly three ways. Magnolia Park and the flats around downtown are mostly 1940s and '50s homes on close lots, getting opened up with bigger sliders, glazed interior doors and brighter bathrooms. The Rancho Equestrian District, beside Griffith Park, has wider lots where a riding trail can pass right behind the family room. And the hillside streets toward Brace Canyon and Wildwood Canyon put living rooms and decks facing out over the Valley, which means facing the neighbor downhill too.
The Valley adds its own problem. Burbank summers run well hotter than the coast, and west-facing glass takes the worst of the afternoon. In its frosted state the film diffuses that glare and cuts solar heat gain by roughly a third, and it blocks more than 99% of UV in both states. When you want the view back, you switch it clear. No fixed tint has to dim it all day.
A Burbank Home Office With Glass on Two Sides
Our Burbank work so far is residential and indoors. In a family home here, a home office had a pair of full-lite French doors opening to the dining room and a glazed door through to the kitchen, which made it the brightest room in the house and the least private. We retrofitted 29 sq ft of switchable film onto the existing door glass. Both doors switch together on a handheld remote, no door came off its hinges, and no switch plate was cut into the finished walls. If you're weighing film on existing doors against new switchable glazing, our smart glass French doors page covers both routes.
From Canoga Park to Burbank
Our shop is in Canoga Park, a straight run east along the 101 and the 134. Burbank is regular install territory for our own crew, at any job size.
- Photos and rough measurements first. You get a written recommendation and quote within one to two business days, and nobody has to visit to produce the number.
- Precise measurement of every opening once you go ahead, as part of the job.
- Fabrication and a bench switch-test in Canoga Park before anything ships to your site.
- Install day. Most homes with three to five windows are done in a single day. Office suites are phased so the floor keeps working.
- Walkthrough and controls. You choose a wall switch, a remote or an app, and the one-year warranty starts.
On price: a single small window usually starts around $1,500 fully installed and scales with glass area from there. An edit bay, a pair of French doors and a six-panel slider all price differently, and the smart glass cost guide explains what drives the number.
