Not sure which one you need

The question that decides it is simple: is the glass already in the wall?

If it is, you want smart film. It applies to the pane in place, most rooms are switchable in a day, and nothing gets demolished. If the glass is still being ordered -- a remodel, a new build, a shower enclosure -- smart glass is worth the step up, because the PDLC layer is sealed inside the laminate at the factory instead of applied on site. For an exterior opening where the window itself is being replaced, the picture window line delivers the whole assembly, frame included, with certified thermal ratings.

Transformers are not an either/or -- every project needs at least one, and we size them for you. If you are replacing a dead unit on someone else's install, that page is the place to start.
