Smart Glass Storefront Windows, Reseda

In 2024 a retail shop in Reseda asked Smart View to solve three problems on their ground-floor storefront at once: too much afternoon heat, too much glare on their window displays, and zero privacy during one-on-one customer consultations. We retrofitted ~60 sqft of switchable PDLC smart glass film onto the existing storefront windows and wired the install to a mobile app. The result is a smart glass storefront Reseda shop owners can shift from clear to frosted straight from a phone — no blinds, no shades, no visible controls on the wall.

The Problem

Retail storefront windows have to do two jobs that conflict. They need to look open and inviting to passersby during business hours, and they need to protect the people and products inside — from sun, from glare, and sometimes from view. The Solution

Smart View handled the full scope in-house. We measured the storefront, fabricated the PDLC smart glass film at our Canoga Park facility, and applied it directly to the existing glass in a dust-free install.
