Smart Glass Office San Diego
Smart Glass Office San Diego — Project Overview
In 2025, our team completed a smart glass office San Diego install for a corporate workspace renovation — 70 sqft of PDLC switchable smart film integrated across two black-framed meeting rooms. The film transforms each room from clear to fully frosted at the flip of a wall switch, giving the office on-demand privacy without breaking the renovation’s modern, open-plan aesthetic.
The Problem
The renovated office featured two corner meeting rooms with full-height glass walls in black-framed structures. The glass walls were central to the design — they kept light flowing across the floor and made the smaller meeting footprint feel larger — but they offered zero privacy for confidential discussions, client meetings, or focused 1:1s. Tearing out the new glass to retrofit blinds or curtains would have undone the renovation; visible window dressing would have killed the high-end finish.
- Privacy on demand for both meeting rooms without sacrificing the new glass-wall design
- Single-button control any team member could use without training
- A clean, hardware-free look — no curtain rods, no track shadows, no wall mountings
The Solution
We applied PDLC switchable smart film to each pane of the existing glass walls, wired to a low-voltage controller behind the wall and operated from a discreet wall switch in each room. Power on, the rooms read as transparent extensions of the office floor; power off, the panels shift to fully frosted in under a second. Full product detail lives on our PDLC smart glass page.
Install specs:
| Square footage | 70 sqft |
| Scope | Smart film retrofit across two meeting rooms |
| Product | PDLC switchable smart glass (film applied to existing glass walls) |
| Control | Wall switch (one per room) |
| Completion | 2025 |
The Outcome
The smart glass office San Diego rooms now run privacy on a workflow tied to room bookings — clear for collaboration and walk-up huddles, frosted for client meetings and review sessions. The black-framed glass walls keep the renovation’s design intent intact, and the wall switches sit flush so visitors don’t notice the privacy hardware until a room flips.
