Conference Room Smart Glass Calabasas - AmaWaterways Corporate Installation
Project Overview
Conference room smart glass Calabasas installations transform open-concept offices into flexible workspaces where privacy and collaboration coexist. Smart View partnered with AmaWaterways at their brand-new corporate office in Calabasas to upgrade three conference rooms with switchable privacy glass technology, giving the executive team instant control over transparency and discretion.
The main boardroom, designed for large executive meetings, features an extra-wide glass enclosure that now transitions seamlessly between clear and frosted modes. Two additional smaller conference rooms were also upgraded to provide flexible privacy while maintaining the bright, open aesthetic of the office. This modern workspace, filled with natural light and elegant finishes, provided the perfect setting for smart glass to elevate both design and functionality.
Why AmaWaterways Chose Smart Glass for Their Calabasas Office
AmaWaterways needed a solution that preserved the modern architectural design of their new Calabasas headquarters. The office features floor-to-ceiling glass walls, natural light flow, and a collaborative open-plan layout – everything that makes a corporate space feel premium but creates privacy challenges during sensitive meetings.
Traditional solutions like blinds, curtains, or frosted film would have disrupted the clean design language. Instead, this conference room smart glass Calabasas installation delivered:
- Instant privacy at the touch of a button
- Zero visual disruption when switched to clear mode
- No mechanical blinds or fabric to maintain
- Professional appearance befitting an executive environment
- Easy integration with existing glass walls
Smart Glass vs Smart Film – What This Project Used
Most clients use the terms smart glass and smart film interchangeably, but there is a technical difference. Smart glass is a complete laminated panel with the PDLC layer built in during manufacturing. Smart film is an adhesive layer applied directly to existing glass to convert it into switchable privacy glass.
This AmaWaterways project used smart film applied to their existing conference room glass. Retrofitting with smart film was faster than full glass replacement, caused zero disruption to office operations, and delivered identical switching performance. Both options use the same PDLC technology and look visually identical once installed.
The Conference Room Smart Glass Calabasas Installation Process
Our local Los Angeles team handled the full AmaWaterways project from measurement to final testing. Every conference room smart glass Calabasas installation starts with a site assessment covering glass condition, electrical access, and controller placement.
The project scope covered:
- Precision measurement of three conference room enclosures
- Custom fabrication at our Canoga Park facility
- Surface preparation and thorough glass cleaning
- Application of PDLC smart film to all panels
- Low-voltage electrical routing through ceiling and wall pathways
- Controller installation with wall switch access
- Voltage calibration and clarity testing across all rooms
Smart Glass Benefits for Executive Conference Rooms
The installation was completed quickly and efficiently, ensuring a perfect fit and smooth electrical integration across all three rooms. Every glass panel was precisely measured, cut, and connected to deliver consistent performance. The process was non-disruptive, maintaining the professional flow of the office while transforming each conference space into a smart, adaptable environment.
