Smart Glass Conference Room Thousand Oaks
Smart Glass Conference Room Thousand Oaks — Project Overview
In 2024, our team completed a smart glass conference room Thousand Oaks install for a major energy company’s corporate HQ. We integrated 150 sqft of PDLC switchable smart glass film into an existing six-panel sliding glass door system — door system supplied by KNR Sliding Doors, film integration and electrical by Smart View.
The Problem
The conference room sits at the edge of an open-plan corporate floor. The six-panel sliding glass divider was already in place and leadership wanted to keep it — open sightlines and daylight matched the company’s brand standard — but the room couldn’t host confidential briefings or board reviews while it stayed a fishbowl. Replacing the divider was off the table; operations couldn’t pause for a multi-week construction retrofit.
- Privacy on demand for closed-door discussions without losing daylight
- Zero construction disruption — keep the existing six-panel system in place
- One-touch control any executive or admin can run mid-meeting
The Solution
We integrated PDLC switchable smart glass film into each of the six existing sliding panels. The film wires into a low-voltage controller and switches via wireless remote — power on, the panels are transparent; power off, they’re fully frosted, in under a second. Glass system fabricated and supplied by KNR Sliding Doors; Smart View handled the film integration, electrical, and commissioning. Full product detail lives on our PDLC smart glass page.
